Marianna Beres was born and educated in Budapest, Hungary. After immigrating to the United States, pursuing her passion for cooking, she became a personal chef and culinary event planner in New York. Always having a strong interest in health and wellness, Marianna decided to combine these two areas by attending The Academy of Healing Nutrition in New York City where she was trained in the Traditional Chinese Longevity Diet. Her keen interest in health and diet was stimulated by the influence of Dr. Andrew Weil's many writings.
Marianna is certified as a Holistic Health Counselor and a Nutritional Coach, by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. She is a mentor for undergraduate students at The Academy of Healing Nutrition and has acted as a Faculty Assistant. Her continuing interest in healing nutrition stimulated her to become a member of the Weston Price Foundation and Slow Food USA. She is a volunteer for the School Garden Project of Eugene, giving cooking demonstration and nutritional lectures to children. She is also a guest speaker at the O Nutrition Club at the University of Oregon / Go Ducks! /
"She educated me about my health problems and prescribed diet changes which have been extremely successful. Specifically, she has taught me what foods were right for me, when to eat them, and how to buy them. Apart from food, she taught me how to push away negative thoughts and feelings and to keep a positive outlook to engender a healthy body and mind."

"I saw Marianna once a week. She taught me simple exercise moves and breathing techniques. Then, we would prepare easy meals that would aid my conditions. Her views on healthy eating and helpful lifestyle modifications were a real eye opener and I finally saw positive changes in my health that I had not been able to achieve with medication alone."
