JUSTINE MICHAUD

Justine was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February 2008. Choosing holistic treatment, Justine lived the majority of the next year and a half as she had hoped, enjoying a fairly high quality of life. She was looking forward to a new treatment regimen, begun shortly after a second surgery in May, having time to kick in. Sadly, that did not prove to be the case. In the early hours of Monday, June 29, Justine transitioned at Sacred Heart Hospital--River Bend (Eugene, Oregon). Her family and those who heard a call to be in attendance at that moment surrounded her, as did the hospital's extraordinary staff.
A memorial Fund has been established in Justine's name in order to assist with final expenses, repay friends who helped Justine along her journey, and compensate two of the kind doctors who deferred payment out of respect and affection for Justine.

Justine's family circle was drawn from many parts of her life. Indeed, she found family in many of your eyes. Those of us charged with her affairs wrap all of you -- her community at Village Health and everyone who was a part of the larger community that Justine created -- in warm embrace. We thank you for caring for Justine and holding her in the way that you did; and, in that process, holding all of us, together.
