I have been fortunate in having diverse experiences in my life.
I was born into a family of seven children in Eastern Tennessee. Our family later moved to Detroit, and when I left home as a teenager I wound up settling in Alaska for many years.
During my time in Alaska I started training in the martial arts and had a variety of work experience including: heavy construction, commercial fishing and as a merchant seaman. Due to the seasonal nature of my work, I was able to travel though much of the US, Canada and Mexico as well as trips overseas.
After injuring my back working on the Alaska Pipeline I became interested in the healing arts. I was a massage therapist for about eight years including teaching at Lane Community College. I later became a Physical Therapist and have been for seventeen years.
In my free time, I enjoy balancing body, mind and spirit. Physically, I participate in marital arts, yoga, tai chi, chi gung, biking, hiking, camping, etc. I read, study, take and teach seminars. Last but not least, I devote time everyday to devotional practice including simple gratitude for what we have received.
