Valerie is an artist in love with life and passionate about many things: pottery, writing, Nature, painting, roaming bookstores, living organically and simply, reading, making a difference, living and loving.
She's intuitive, open-minded and creates a haven of support for people who need a listening ear. She has a special compassion for those grieving the loss of a spouse or partner and wants to offer her services as a Certified Bereavement Facilitator. She knows from personal experience the pain of losing a husband and is starting a grief support group for young widows and widowers (begins in April 2007).
She also teaches journaling workshops that enable the grieving person to heal and integrate their grief.
"Journaling through my grief was a catharsis I could not have lived without during my acute grief stages and I would like to teach this lifeline to others experiencing pain."
Valerie offers light-touch, relaxation massage and Reiki. She believes in bringing healthy touch back into the lives of those that have lost it along the way - those grieving the loss of a partner, grieving loss of touch because of an extended illness or disease, and the HIV/AIDS community.
She attended Lane Community College's Massage Therapy program in Eugene and Oregon School of Massage at both campuses, Salem and Portland. She is a member of the American Academy of Bereavement.
